baby-boy-sleepsuits

A baby boy sleepsuit is a one-piece item of baby clothing with long sleeves and legs, and they can be footed or footless with cuffs. A sleepsuit for older boys and men is normally called a onesie.

A baby sleepsuit is typically made from cotton and closed with poppers (otherwise known as snaps), although they may also be made from fleece (velour) or closed with a zip. Baby's little feet are often enclosed, but they may be footless (so little socks will be needed for the baby boy too). Sometimes scratch mitts are integrated into the baby boy sleepsuit. If it doesn't have scratch mitts built in then you'll want to buy some baby scratch mitts too.

What's the difference between a baby boy sleepsuit and a babygro?

A baby sleepsuit is often called a babygro, but Babygro is actually a brand of sleepsuit Babygro originated in the USA in the 1950's and became so popular that the term babygrow stemmed from this. So if someone asks for for a babygro for a boy as a gift they mean a sleepsuit.

What's the difference between a baby boy sleepsuit and a bodysuit?

Often confused with bodysuits, sleepsuits for boys are distinguished from bodysuits by the fact that they have long sleeves and legs. Bodysuits are what are also known as baby vests, in non-hot weather, it's typical to have a bodysuit under other clothing.

Baby boy sleepsuit or romper?

Rompers for baby boys are footless sleepsuits, it's the same thing, just other terminology. A romper will have cuffed ankles and the baby’s little feet are exposed, so if buying a romper you'll want to buy little socks too or stay on booties.

Why are infant sleepsuits for boys so popular?

Infant boy sleepsuits are typically designed for ease of nappy change, and this helps explain why they are so popular with parents! With snaps on the legs or a zip for quick change without having to undress your little baby boy. Just unbutton or unzip the closure and change the nappy. Hooray! Most baby boy sleepsuits have long sleeves as well as long legs to keep the baby well covered, so they are very handy when your baby is home or when you take baby out.

As the name suggests, a sleepsuit is perfect for sleeping too. Often made of cotton, they are soft, breathable and help baby boys and girls to have a nice night's sleep.
