We give back

Your purchases help us support baby charities, individuals and communities.

We make clothing donations to hospitals and individuals, support Tommy's (the baby charity) and source products from ethical suppliers that support charities and communities too.

Founded by a NICU Nurse
Little Mouse was founded by a Neonatal Nurse with a genuine desire to help family and friends of premature babies; and the fact we can make a living from doing so is a dream come true. As we grow we will do even more charitable work.

NICU donations

We donate to hospitals

From time to time we will donate specialist NICU clothing to neonatal wards. Neonatal wards love to have clothing available for new parents who have had a surprisingly early birth, because usually the parents aren't prepared with clothes that will be suitable for a premature baby. These babies not only deserve a lovely outfit to wear that fits, but even more than other babies, need to be kept warm.

Sadly some babies born very early do not survive and in addition to selling bereavement gowns we have donated clothing to hospitals that are supporting bereaved parents who cannot afford specialist clothing for their little angels.

We donate to Tommy's, the children's charity

We currently donate £2 to Tommy's, the baby charity, for every purchase of our premature baby milestone cards.

Your purchases from these brands help others less fortunate

Many of the brands we work with have high ethical standards.

Purchase from these brands and you're helping some amazing charities and communities. In some parts of the world textile workers can be employed in poor conditions and are from deprived areas; whereas these brands go the extra mile to ensure their workers are paid fairly and are safe and secure at work.

Pebble have also been working in partnership with the USAID's CREL project and Winrock International to connect poor and resource-dependent people with the private sector. By teaching women in these very remote areas to knit, so that they no longer need to go to the forests and deplete the natural resources for their livelihoods. It's all about working together to mitigate the effects of climate change and enable climate resilience.

Best Years

Ethical sourcing is at the core of all Best Years' products

We are an ethical company and ethical sourcing is at the core of all our products so we found a great factory to make our first knitted toys for us, and now we have hundreds, still working with the same people we met all those years ago.

This interest in ethical sourcing also led to our 2009 partnership with the Pebble fair trade cooperatives who hand make knitted and crochet toys in rural Bangladesh creating thousands of fairly paid and flexible jobs in the process.

And since knitted and crochet goes hand in hand with cotton it was a natural process for us to find the organic cotton Under the Nile ranges we which we now offer.

So whether you are looking for a great toy for your child, or specifically for a Fair trade and/or organic toy we have a great selection for you to choose from.

Under The Nile

100% certified organic cotton and fair trade working conditions

We use only 100% organic Egyptian cotton. We strive to reduce our ecological footprint at every possible opportunity.

Our organic cotton is grown at a Biodynamic farm in Egypt, called Sekem. Biodynamic agriculture is a method of Organic farming that applies a holistic understanding of life processes. As one of the first sustainable agriculture movements, it treats soil fertility, plant growth, and livestock care as ecologically interrelated tasks emphasizing spiritual and cosmic perspectives. Sekem was founded on these principles of holistic and sustainable approach to organic agriculture and shares our values and commitment to sustainability.

Workers at the Sekem farm receive on-site healthcare, daycare and school for their children, as well as daily organic meals that are made from food grown right there on the farm.

In 2015, Sekem received The Land For Life Award from the United Nations Convention on Combating Desertification (UNCCD). Sekem is also certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and is a certified Fair Trade farm.

All of our products are certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). This means that our entire supply chain, is held to strict criteria of environmental and social standards.
