Why buy from us?
Our Founder is a NICU Nurse with 20 years experience and she personally chooses all our clothing.
Premature babies struggle to maintain their core temperature at a constant level, so they need clothing that is snug, and also practical if they are in the NICU. These babies are usually connected to wires and tubes so clothing needs to allow for this.
Customers rate our premature baby clothing 'Excellent' for sizing & quality.

What does preemie baby mean?
A preemie baby is another term for premature baby, and is a popular term in the USA. A preemie baby is one who is born too early, before 37 weeks of pregnancy.
According to Bliss - the charity for babies born early or sick - around 60,000 babies are born prematurely in the UK every year. This means that 1 in every 13 babies born in the UK will be born premature.
Not all preemie babie babies will need to be cared for in a neonatal unit (NICU). Many babies born prematurely will be born late preterm (at 34-36 weeks of pregnancy), and some of these may not need specialist care on a neonatal unit or specialist care unit.
These are the different categories of preemie babies:
- Late preterm: A baby born between 34 and 36 completed weeks of pregnancy. (See clothes).
- Moderately preterm: A baby born between 32 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. (See clothes).
- Very preterm: A baby born at less than 32 weeks of pregnancy. (See clothes).
-
Extremely preterm or micro-preemie: A baby born at or before 25 weeks of pregnancy. (See clothes).
What clothes does a preemie baby wear?
What preemie baby clothes a tiny baby can wear will depend on it's stage of development and it's current care i.e. is baby in the hospital NICU or SCBU or not. This will determine if a preemie baby just wears an incubator vest or premature baby sleepsuit, hat, mitts, tiny baby snowsuit, etc.
It's very important that a premature baby's temperature is regulated and it is comfortable. Dressing with preemie baby clothing should cause minimal disturbance, and layering clothing is recommended when baby is out of the incubator.
Once a preemie baby is able to come home you will probably need tiny baby clothes. Our tiny baby clothing is size 4lb-7lb or 5lb-8lb.
